Downtown Scottsdale is a Summer Hot Spot on the NY Times List

Downtown Scottsdale made the New York Times list of 31 Places to go this Summer.

At #9 despite the summer being the valley's off-season, this will provide a boost to the state's tourism industry.

The Times states:  "Downtown Scottsdale is turning into a desert version of Miami's South Beach.  No ocean of course, but plenty of late-night partying and a buzzing hotel scene."

Also making the list at #12 - Monument Valley  and # 22 Lake Powell.

Also Phoenix Magazine has a great article of Summer getaways - Chill out by 20 of the state's most spectacular summer waterfalls.  I bought the magazine and wow, they weren't kidding what spectacular pictures.  Our family has a summer home in Payson and we plan on visiting a few of the waterfalls that are on the list.

Arizona is a great place to visit and travel anytime of the year, please visit our website

Arizona Desert Botanical Garden

Today is the day to post about the Arizona Desert Botanical Gardens.  I've been wanting to this post for a month or two, but "stuff" has just been getting in the way.

This was my husbands and my first time to the Desert Botanical Garden in Arizona.  Sad thing is my husband is a native of 40 years and I've been here for 15 years.  It took my sons first field trip to get us there.  Wow, what and experience...4 classes of 25 first graders.  The best part was the kids were more excited about the bus ride then the field trip.

Here are some of our pictures.....

The Butterfly Pavillion exhibit...absolutely beautiful!

The Butterfly Pavillion exhibit...there were so many.

And my sweet 7 year old Konrad with his buddy Sydney...oh to be young with no worries but looking at butterflies.  :0)

We truly had an enjoyable time, visit their web-site Desert Botanical Gardens there is so much information, events and activities that are listed for the whole family to do.  One thing that we are planning is to do the "Flashlight Tour" with both kids over the summer.

Don't you love just have the internet at the tip of your hands?  I sure do the wealth of information is incredible!  Especially when there is POSITIVE NEWS for the Real Estate industry.

Great article from Leon d'Ancona, president of IMS Inc. and positive news for Arizona.  For example:  Chandler, AZ  -  11.3 % gain on homes sold - number of units,  also for Arizona, another surprise at the number of units sold was Avondale, Arizona with a 64.1 % increase.  Check out this site Happy Real Estate News.  Good news for the United States!

Personality Insights

This afternoon was quite interesting, not only did my husband and I get a wild idea like rearrange our office,  but a dear sweet friend of ours Teresa Lindquist came over to show us - "The Ultimate Discovery System."  Teresa's a Business Coach with a true passion for helping your business grow.  Her personal goals are, "Helping you clarify and leverage your natural talents for success!"

We spent about 2 hours going over details of how to get our business to grow, we needed fresh ideas for today's market  and she definitely gave us great pointers.  And then we went over Personality Insights through the Ultimate Discovery System.  During our first session you could definitely see that this system delivers: Results, Recognition, Relationship and Reason.  These are four Simple Steps for Success in all fields.  I learned to read different personalities, which is a must in this industry.  I can't tell you how many times over the years how I have read an individual wrong or could not make sense of there personality and this training with Teresa opened my eyes to a pattern that is among my personal life and the people I work with and for.

I invite you to check out Personality Insights and see what they have to offer to enhance your professional life and personal.  You can also contact Teresa Lindquist at 480-570-5876 or Teresa@ClearSolutionsCoaching.com.  For more information visit Clear Solutions Coaching.

9000 listings pending

For those "Sitting on the Fence" waiting for the market to bottom out you might be late if you don't jump in soon.  We just hit 9000 pending listings in the Phoenix area, so the time to jump on the fence is upon you before you miss the chance to get a low interest rate and a home at rock bottom prices.

One of my fellow John Hall & Associates agents, Leif Swanson, posted the numbers on our John Hall blog.  Here is a taste of what he said,

"We just hit 7554 pendings and 1446 awc’s for a grand total of 9000 listings under contract.
It’s the highest # of pendings for 2008 so far."

Read the rest here.....

This is great news for us, it means that things are starting to turn around for us in Arizona.  Don't be fooled by the media that keeps foretelling doom and gloom in the housing market nation wide, we are still doing well compared to most other areas.

Mountain Bridge

For those that haven't heard of the Mountain Bridge community in the foothills of North Mesa, it's worth taking a look.  The builder had people camping in their RV's and cars for days waiting for Saturday's grand opening with special pricing, which was good for Saturday only.  I've got to hand it to the builder, they fed the campers three meals a day and added more available lots to meet the demand, when I left just before closing they had sold 101 lots that day.  The setting is picturesque and beautiful with the mountains to the north and city lights to the south and west.  My clients are very interested in this area and they fell in love immediately.

Blandford Homes has 16 models built that are finished beautifully, the builder went all out with cobblestone streets and beautiful landscaping.  The floor plans range from 1483 sq. ft to 5332 sq. ft. and a price range from $240,000 to $790,000 before upgrades.  I have to give this community 5 out of 5 stars for the beautiful scenery, floor plans and future community centers.  I'm not sure what the new pricing is going to be, but I will be going there again soon and will get a new price list.

Here are some pictures of the models.   It's definitely worth driving out and looking at!

The Wall Street Journal - The Housing Crisis is Over

I have been out of the loop for the last few days, my sweet children gave me the "stomach flu" that has been going around school.  Now granted we have a family of 4, 3 of us have taken the toll of stomach flu hell!  Needless to say, Mother's Day was spent in bed.  LOL

Now I'm glad to be back at work and blogging...I've missed out on the current and local events.  There's so much to chat about.

I think that out of all the articles I've read this past week, blogs, RSS feeds, local newspapers, you name it, I've read it all, this article from the Wall Street Journal was refreshing to read.

The Housing Crisis is Over   The Wall Street Journal

With all of the negative news in the press, a little positive news was greatly appreciated.  My husband and I sent this article to all of our data base.

The First $2 Billion Dollar Home

I was reading through some of my RSS feeds today and saw this article on a home that Mukesh Ambani, the fifth richest man in the world, is building.  The home is going to be built in Mumbai, India and is slated to be finished in January.  I found another article with designs and pictures of this place that will around 400,000 square feet.  You really should take a look at this link, it's going to be amazing to say the least.

I pulled the link from Mumbai News and can be a bit slow to pull up, but take a look here...
