What You Need to Know about Remodeling

I was reading an article about remodeling in an National Association of Realtors email talking about returns on remodeling projects and was a bit surprised by the new numbers. It appears that people are more interested in outside improvements (curb appeal) than in-house projects. The old way of thinking was that you always got your money out of bathroom and kitchen remodels, not so anymore according to this new study. I have always looked at curb appeal when seeing a house for the first time, but my real opinion of the house was how does the kitchen and bathrooms look because those are very expensive to upgrade and a real pain if you are living there while trying to remodel.

Take a look at the whole article if you are thinking about remodeling your house prior to selling, you might be surprised on your return according to this study. You also need to consider the area you live in, talk to your realtor (my wife and I, of course ) prior to doing a remodel to see what the latest trends are in your location.
