Earth Day Pledge

The celebration of Earth Day is gone for another year, but not gone from the Elementary and hunior-high-school students.

My son came home from school and handed me a letter from his teacher.  It was the Earth Day Pledge. What a great idea...what was even better was having my 7 year old sign it with out asking but knew it was for a good cause.

His Pledge is to recycle, conserve energy and save water to protect Arizona's resources.  Pretty cool huh?!  Then he read his pledge that his class (fellow students) and he had pledged to....recycle, turn off water when brushing my teeth, turn off the lights when I'm not in a room or when leaving a room, and always when my kids get a new toy, we donate a old toy for the kids that don't have as much as they do.  His favorite is not to litter and when we drive down the road and see someone litter, the question is "Why would someone want to ruin God's creation?"  Good question for a 7 yr old.

Needless to say he signed his pledge and so far he's sticking to it!
